The Twits by Roald Dahl

The book started with the Twits playing a whole bunch of tricks on each other. The Twits are a couple who is very unhappy and constantly trying to make each other miserable. They also made their bird pie in a very weird way. The smothered a tree with glue, the stickiest in the world, then when the birds came and landed on the tree they all got stuck. The next day they came out and picked the birds off like blueberries off of a blueberry plant.

Then they had a garden with a gage of monkeys. There were 4 monkeys. They made them stand on their heads for hours. The monkey’s last name were the Wunglewomps.

And then there was the roly poly bird. The roly poly bird was a very weird bird. It had feathers like a peacock. And then the monkeys didn’t like standing on their heads. So they played a trick on Mr. and Mrs. Twit. They smothered glue all over the ceiling and pulled out everything off of the ground -- the carpets, the chairs, the table and the TV. And they made it look like the inside of the house got turned right upside down.

Then the Twits went to buy guns because the roly poly bird kept helping the thousands of birds so they couldn’t make bird pie. They told them to land on anything that wasn't smothered with glue. Then when the Twits got home with their guns, they went inside to load them. Right before they walked in the door, two birds painted their heads with the glue.

When they walked in the door they saw that everything was upside-down. Then Mrs. Twit had the idea to stand on their heads so they would be right-side-up. And the glue made them stick to the ground. The monkeys had this idea to do it, because the Twits kept making THEM stand on their heads. There was this disease that one of the tricks was called The Shrinks where your head shrinks into your body, your arms shrink into your body, your body shrinks into your legs, and your legs shrink into your feet. Your feet then disappear into thin air. But that was just one of their tricks. But the disease was real.

When they were standing on their heads for two days, when all of their blood was gathered to their head, they started getting The Shrinks. All that was left of them was a pile of clothes.

My Father's Dragon Book Review

Today I finished the book My Father's Dragon by Ruth Stiles Gannett. It is 87 pages.

It all started one cold and rainy night when the boy's father found a little alley cat. He tried to take the alley cat home but his mom does not like cats, so his mom told him to put the cat out to where the boy's father found him. But secretly every night he went out with the alley cat.

One day he went out with the alley cat to the park and the alley cat told him about a place called the Wild Lands. In the Wild Lands, he said, there was a dragon there. His father was very curious to go see the dragon. He packed all of his stuff and took sail on a boat, secretly. And while he was riding on the boat, no one knew he was there. He hid in a small, grain bag that was empty.

At last he hit shore and they threw the grain bags on the shore in a big net. The boy's father escaped and he went onto the land. He slept under a fruit tree and then when he woke up he grabbed a lot of the fruit to pack.

And he found a big line of rocks that lead from that island to the Wild Lands. When he got to the Wild Lands he saw a mouse and the mouse saw him. The mouse went to tell a whole lot of other animals that he was there. So he had to come across a lot of animals.

The first one was a wild boar, the second one was a tortoise. The third one was seven tigers. The fourth one was a rhinoceros. The fifth one was a lion. The sixth one was a girl lion. The seventh was a gorilla and some monkeys. The eighth was crocodiles.

And after he went across all of those animals he finally found the dragon.
